Sunday Planning will Make the Most of Your Week

Sunday Planning

Monday’s are like mini New Years. It is a new beginning to the week and a chance to accomplish things you may not have the week before. Were you trying to stick to a diet but slipped? Start again Monday. In order to have a strong Monday you need a little pregame on Sunday.

Sunday has become my day to get ready for the week and I am telling you it will make a strong difference. Here is what I do on Sunday to get ready for my new week:

Plan Out The Week Ahead

I use a planner but whatever you use will work, as long as it is an actual system. A paper planner, a wall calendar, digital planner, calendar on phone are all great options to get organized. Write down any important dates that you have coming up, bills that need paid, appointments and so on.

Meal Plan

Now that you can see what you have going on for the week you can plan out your meals around the week. If you knew you had an appointment at 5:30 on a Tuesday you could prepare to have something in the crock pot waiting for you when you were done!

To be honest I try to plan out two weeks ahead. I like to have all my grocery shopping done by Sunday at the latest so typicaly planning the current weeks meals the Sunday before wouldn’t work. But this is your system and adjust it to make it fit for you.

Wardrobe

I used to think picking out your clothes ahead of time was silly. I could just go in my closet and pick an outfit off my hanger and be done with it. But then I started a new job and the dress code was a little more business casual than just casual. It started to matter what I wore and I stood there just starring for minutes at my clothes. So now I pick out my clothing for the week. Its all on hangers and in its own section in my closet. If you really want, you can find hanger tags on Amazon or even as a free printable on Pinterest.

If you have children this tool is extremely helpful. No more struggling in the morning with what they want to wear or what they can not find.

Meal Prep

Meal prepping is essential to starting the week off right, especially if you are trying to stay on a budget. Use Sunday to make lunches to take to work as well as lunches for your children and/or spouse. With everyone having a lunch to eat there will be no need to go out and spend money on lunch. Then in the morning it is even easier to just grab everything for lunch and pack it. No thought into what to make or taking time out of your already busy morning to make something.

Reflect on the previous week

Lastly, just reflect on your last week. Was there anything you want to do differently this week? Was there anything you just absolutely loved! Use this reflection to make any changes or to implement anything new you would like into your week.
