This will be our second annual pumpkin carving party! The tradition started when we moved into our new home. We had previously sold our house in the “city” and moved out into the “country”. I joke because, in my opinion, we are not that far from anyone really. We are only 20 minutes away from all the grocery stores and maybe 30 minutes away from entertainment and good food. But anytime there is a drive that consists of flatlands instead of houses and buildings, everyone thinks you are sooooo far away. To help my daughter not feel so isolated, which she isn’t by the way, we planned a pumpkin carving party and invited all of our friends.
We created our invitations and made sure to put our address so everyone could google to see if they thought it was too far of a drive. Luckily, almost all of her friend’s parents didn’t think it was an issue. With our RSVP’s in hand, we started to get ready for the party.
Pumpkin carving kits for each
Design templates (here are some free Disney carving templates)
Table cloth
Tape to apply templates to pumpkins
We had around 10 kids RSVP and the party time was scheduled to run for 2 hours. I had decided that getting the pumpkins ready ahead of time would probably save us time and big messes. I cut and scooped out seeds of 10 pumpkins the night before the party.
We wanted our food to be easy to eat and easy to deal with. Mostly snacking options and one item with a little more substance.
Meatballs with marinara sauce
Cheese and crackers
Chips and salsa
Caprese Salad Skewers
Mini caramel apples
Orange Soda
Last year we did not have time for anything other than carving pumpkins, but the kids loved it! This year we are thinking of expanding the time and adding pumpkin-themed games. What a great addition to our pumpkin carving party!
Here are some simple but cute invitations you can use for your pumpkin party! I would love to see your pictures and ideas!
